NET SET GO

Program Details
Net Set Go Program runs each Saturday morning at Narrandjeri stadium, 281 Darebin Road, Thornbury at 8:30am (no netball on school holidays or if there is a public holiday on Monday no netball the Saturday preceeding that public holiday).
Anyone interested in joining can come along on Saturday mornings.

Where do I start?

So which tier should you join?

That depends on a few things: how old you are, how fit and strong you are, and how much netball you’ve played before.

Here’s a rough guide:

Net is for 5 to 6 year-olds. It’s all about picking up basic movement skills. Get ready to run a lot, catch a lot, and play a lot of ball games.

Set is for 7 to 8 year-olds. It’s a bit more netball-focused. You’ll play practice matches, learn to pivot and work on those lightning passes.

GO is for 9 to 10 year-olds. You’ll build on the fundamentals, play modified netball matches, and run some more advanced drills.

What will I learn?

The big thing with Suncorp NetSetGO is mastering the basics. Having fun and eating half-time oranges are pretty important too.

Over the program, you’ll learn a bunch of stuff.

  • How to throw, pass and catch a netball.

  • How to take off and land safely.

  • How to pivot and change direction.

  • The mysterious art of goal shooting.

  • Some basic movement skills and techniques.

  • Why teamwork is so important.

  • How to play fair, respect your umpire and have fun.
